GPS Impact is hiring a full-time People & Operations Manager to join our growing Operations Team. This position is based in Kansas City, MO. 

We are a full-service public affairs and multimedia advertising agency with broad experience helping progressive candidates, advocacy groups, and organizations use integrated, strategic communications and advertising to achieve their goals. GPS Impact is uniquely set up with digital expertise as well as television media production, general campaign consulting, communications experts, ad-buying, targeting, and creative all in-house.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process semi-monthly payrolls for GPS Impact and related companies
  • Lead the design and development of the hiring process, ensuring strong, diverse pools of candidates and an equitable hiring process
  • Manage all aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding including application setup, equipment tracking, and exit interviews
  • Lead the design and development of the performance review process and recognition and rewards initiatives
  • Respond to staff requests and questions in a timely and courteous manner
  • Drive the ideation and manage staff events and activities
  • Facilitate a culture of belonging and inclusivity among staff ensuring a high staff retention rate
  • Research and identify skills based trainings and diversity and inclusion trainings for management and staff
  • Work with team leads to research and identify professional development opportunities for staff
  • Manage the Kansas City office 
  • Contribute to other special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to respond to urgent, time sensitive requests after regular business hours
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable with minimal management and deliver on projects and deadlines
  • Extreme attention to detail and deadlines, especially as it pertains to financial reporting and payroll 
  • High degree of integrity, ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and maintains confidentiality 
  • Ability to problem solve creatively with a curious attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff and leadership across diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Comfortable operating in loosely structured environments, excelling in prioritizing workload and self-managing projects; demonstrating initiative and juggling multiple, competing priorities
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • High emotional and social intelligence with the ability to deal with conflict effectively and manage difficult situations calmly and effectively. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous operations or HR experience at a political firm
  • Passion for progressive politics
  • Experience with Gsuite tools, Slack, and ADP payroll processing systems

GPS Impact offers a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k) and paid time off. Salary ranges from $85,000-$100,000 and is dependent on experience.
