GPS Impact is hiring a full-time Client Success Director to join our growing GPS Influence Team. GPS Influence is the public affairs and strategic communications practice group at GPS Impact. It is preferred that this position is based in our Kansas City, MO hybrid work environment, but this position can be remote (pending location approval) or based in one of our other physical office locations in Des Moines, IA, Philadelphia, PA or Washington, DC. 

We are a full-service public affairs and multimedia advertising agency with broad experience helping progressive candidates, advocacy groups, and organizations use integrated, strategic communications and advertising to achieve their goals. This role requires a high degree of organization with the ability to engage with colleagues across GPS at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, to support project management systems, processes, and pursuits, and execution. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

This multi-faceted role builds relationships that motivate and bring people together to bring forward the best work for clients. They will report to the Vice President of Public Affairs and are responsible for the following: 

● Directly manage team members 

● Having a strong understanding of traditional media, paid, owned, and earned content marketing and influencer strategies. 

● Working with team members to develop plans, knowing when to tap specialists along the planning process. 

● Draft strategic responses to RFPs and participate in new business pitches. 

● Coordinating, collaborating, tracking and timeline management in a dynamic environment to support the growth of GPS Influence and GPS Impact. 

● Managing multiple projects at one time. 

● Generate new ideas and opportunities for client strategic plans. 

● Coordinating internal approvals between GPS Influence team members to ensure all internal and external deadlines are met. 

● Communicating on timelines and schedules with other departments as needed. 

● Tracking project deliverables to ensure client expectations are being met. 

● Maintaining shared documents, workback plans, and content deliverables. 

● Managing business development projects as needed. 

REQUIREMENTS 

We’re seeking candidates who excel in a fast-paced team environment, are results-oriented, and have strong organizational skills. You should: 

● Be highly organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. 

● Experience being a people manager. 

● Be dependable and trustworthy with an ability to work well independently and with others. 

● Strong interpersonal, intra-team and client communication skills (both verbal and written) 

● Excellent writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills. 

● Demonstrate proficiency in a task management system, Google Sheets, and willingness to learn other tools as needed. 

● Persistent, positive problem-solving attitude and a proactive approach to tasks. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

● Bachelor’s in Public Relations 

● At least 8 years’ PR agency experience, with at least 2-3 years in account management. 

● Experience managing day-to-day client communications and managing projects. 

● Ability to function well in a fast-paced, informal, team-focused environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high. 

● Experience working with Todoist or similar project management systems 

● Genuine interest in public affairs field and understanding of public relations and advertising 

COMPENSATION 

The salary for the Client Success Director will be $125,000 annually. GPS offers several other attractive benefits including generous paid time off, 401k match, parental leave, and a flexible working environment.
